Filming Location - Change

We were thinking of filming inside the picture house in Cambridge however we feel that it would be very hard to film effectively in there as well as the fact that we would have to draw up plans for the use of the building which in turn would waste time which we could use filming. We have now decided to film in the school hall and only in the city centre of Cambridge itself which will us to film quickly and without wasting much time.

Similar Artist - Look

Similar Artist Analysis - Kooks

The clothing of the Kooks is alternative and sometimes vintage, many of their clothing is designer but it is shown that they also wear casual clothing. This allows their audience to relate to them by their clothing. Their clothing sets a certain fashion while allowing the audience to have their own identity.

Indie clothing is normally worn by skinny boys with messy or slightly stylied hair. Skinny jeans are worn or loose fitting denim. A plain t-shirt either loose or normal, also they wear any sort of comfortable clothing. They also normally wear comfortable shoes such as converse normally in black or blue.

Indie Girls normally have wavy hair that looks bedraggled, and dress not a million miles away from the boys, just with more feminine styles. They normally wear skinny jeans along with loose fitting t-shirts. The Indie girl also wears leggings and skirts along with boots. However these must be easily recognisable as Indie.

The Kooks appeal to their audience by wearing what they genre deems fit. The kooks wear skinny jeans and loose t-shirts to relate to their audience also this allows them to break from the normal fashion conventions.

Filming locations

We are looking to film in an ordinary location which our audience can relate to. This will most likely be in a city or large town with some urban areas. However we are also thinking of filming our band in different locations such as in a building, home, in the street and possibly in a field or rural area. This will us to show multiple aspects of our band as well as showing our band together with their musical skill.

We are looking to film in Cambridge city centre as well as in and around Wills house as this will us to film the rural setting as well as the home scene. We are thinking of trying to use a building in Cambridge such as the picture house or just a building with easy access.

Hybrid Genre

Hybrid Genre - Linkin Park - Rock Rap

Linkin Park's album "hybrid Theory" mixes primarily the two music genres of Rock and Rap. The album uses Rock to fill in the gaps which traditional Rap songs have, while using Rap to employ more unique beats and allowing for more complicated lyrics.

You usually find the traditional instruments of rock such as guitars, bass guitars and drums, also used are elements of rap such as DJ's, scratch pads and electronic sampling equipment. Vocals are either sung or rapped.

Rock Rap shares many similarities to rap and hip-hop such as the use of rhyme and the beat. Drums are used to keep the rock part consistent as well as allowing for an aggressive song to be sung or rapped. However drums do not normally accompany rap which is more to do with on the beat measuring.  It is also a popular practice to switch between sung portions of the song to spoken sections and back (i.e. chorus and verses sung but the bridge is rapped).
